Juvederm Ultra XC® and Juvederm Ultra Plus XC® – with comfort-enhancing lidocaine.
The JUVÉDERM® XC formulation with 0.3% preservative-free lidocaine numbs the treatment area within seconds, potentially reducing the need for an additional anesthetic. JUVÉDERM® XC provides the same smooth, long-lasting results as demonstrated with existing formulations of JUVÉDERM®, and now offers a more comfortable injection experience and potentially less time spent in the physician’s office when compared to the non-lidocaine JUVÉDERM® formulation.
One size doesn’t fit all when it comes to wrinkle treatment. A customized treatment plan is important for achieving the best results. That’s why JUVÉDERM® XC is available in two formulations—JUVÉDERM® Ultra XC for versatility in contouring and volumizing facial wrinkles and folds, and JUVÉDERM® Ultra Plus XC, a more robust formulation for volumizing and correcting deeper folds and facial wrinkles. This allows your healthcare professional to tailor treatment to meet your unique needs. These injections can be combined with PRP – Platelet Rich Plasma – to give a better, longer lasting result.
Juvederm® is an excellent treatment for:
- Lip enhancement
- Deep folds
- Facial lines
- Wrinkle correction
- Lip augmentation
- Facial contour shaping of the cheeks and as a temporary chin “implant” alternative
- Thin lines on the face and above the lips
- In some cases, Juvederm® acts as a temporary scar filler

JUVÉDERM VOLUMA® XC is the first and only FDA-approved injectable gel to instantly add volume to your cheek area to correct age-related volume loss in adults over the age of 21. It can provide you contour and a subtle lift for up to two years with optimal treatment.
The Restylane Procedure
Restylane injections are administered in the doctor’s office, typically for patients aged 35 to 60. It contains lidocaine for comfort during the injections. Depending upon the extent of the treatment, the procedure can take from a few minutes up to 30 minutes. Patients return home shortly after the procedure.
Restylane is a clear liquid gel, a non-animal-based hyaluronic acid (a natural sugar compound).
- Step One: The injector may first select one or more injection points for each location to be treated.
- Step Two: The injector will then identify the correct amount of Restylane to be used.
- Step Three: The Restylane filler is then injected beneath the skin. Hyaluronic acid in the filler adheres to the skin as the water contained in the acid helps to retain volume under the skin’s surface. The acid acts as a magnet for water, which helps to preserve the renewed volume of the skin.
Recovery after Restylane Treatment
Swelling may be pronounced, lasting for two or three days. Normal activities can be resumed immediately, though patients are advised to stay out of the sun. up treatments may be needed.
