antioxidant-foods

Antioxidants are a vital part of your general well being.  As important as it is to use antioxidant products on your skin, incorporating foods high in antioxidants into your diet is essential.   Once absorbed into the bloodstream they have a protective effect on warding off damaging stressors that can affect healthy cells.  Feed your skin from the inside out!

Antioxidants are found in many natural foods.  Berries, beans, nuts and dark green vegetable are a great place to start!  Begin your day with blueberries, blackberries and raspberries to help repair free-radical damage.  Sprinkle nuts in your salad to get Omega 3′s.  Beans (pinto, black and kidney) are some of the most nutrient dense foods we can eat.  So add them into your diet whenever you can!  Dark green vegetables like broccoli and kale are great sources of C, E & A.  Foods with flavonoids like apples, pears and cherries are great protectors of your heart and skin.  They fight free radicals and detoxify the body.

So use your topical skin products to fight pollutants on your skin, but make sure to get a healthy daily dose of these antioxidant rich foods and fight free radicals from the inside out!
